WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY FRIDGE?
During the COVID pandemic we converted part of our Centre into a food and produce distribution Centre to provide necessary food and produce for those in the community who were struggling financially and emotionally.
We assembled a consortium of approx 20 local food producers and retailers who donated approx £350,000 (at rrp) to support the community.
Using two vans we collected and delivered supplies to local Community Groups, Homeless Centres, Elderly Folds and Nursing Homes and families in the community who were finding life tough.
Examples of local businesses who were incredibly generous are Kerry Foods, Moypark, Gilfresh, Linden Foods, Elliotts Tradition, Tesco, Sainsburys, Grahams Bakery, Whites Oats, Karro Foods, Unimush, Wilsons Country, Irwins Bakery, Hovis and Allied Bakeries.
Today we still source and provide food and supplies to those in the community who are need.
